This exhibition of tradition Shoowa textile offering
a stunning display of over 300 unique designed textiles
coving all known styles Kasa Velvet Raffia, Resist
Raffia, Resist dyed Raffia, Embroidered Raffia ,
Open work Raffia and Appliqué Raffia.
Come feel the excitement of this immense collection
of Shoowa embroider design cloth from Olayami Dabls
and S. Jill Miller Collection, acquired over a period
of twenty years. The textiles are on loan to MBAD/ABA
African Bead Museum.
The sheer depth and scope of these beautiful designed
cut pile textiles posses altogether a different
world of excellence from a people who did not have
a word for art.
