WORK OF CITY OF DETROIT EMPLOYEES AND THEIR FAMILIES
AT DOWNTOWN SKILLMAN LIBRARY
The National Arts Program teamed up with the Detroit
Recreation Department to offer City of Detroit and Detroit
Public Library employees and their families an opportunity
to exhibit their artwork in a professional setting.
The work will be exhibited at the Skillman Branch of
the Detroit Public Library, 121 Gratiot Ave., from June
17 through July 31. Awards will be presented at an artist
reception on June 16 from 1 - 4 p.m.
More than fifty City of Detroit and Detroit Public
Library employees, spouses and children entered their
work. Artwork was judged by age category (youth and
adult) and experience level (amateur, intermediate,
and professional). The exhibit includes everything from
oil paintings and quilts to drawings and jewelry.
