Datapedia of the United States
A comprehensive desk reference that contains the most significant historical statistics of the United States from 1789 to 2003, as well as demographic and other select data projections through 2050. Datapedia covers all of the United States' vital sectors, including the labor market, social welfare, and national defense.

Digital Sanborn Maps
Sanborn® fire insurance maps, 1867-1970, are detailed property and land-use records that chart the growth and development of over 12,000 cities and towns throughout the United States. The maps are a valuable resource for urban planners, local and social historians, architects, genealogists, geographers, environmentalists and anyone who wishes to research the history and development of American cities, towns and neighborhoods. These maps provide information such as property boundaries, building outline and size, construction materials, location of windows and doors, street and sidewalk widths, as well as street names and house and block numbers. Textual information on construction details is often given along with extensive information on building use, names and owners of factories and what was manufactured in them.

Encyclopedia of Civil Rights
The Encyclopedia of Civil Rights in America is a comprehensive reference source on the human rights and civil liberties that are legally recognized in the United States. The 677 entries address civil rights issues from a variety of perspectives, such as race, gender, age, medical status or conditions, physical and mental challenges, group membership, religion, and many others.


Gale Encyclopedia of Multicultural America
Contains 8,000 to 12,000 word essays on specific culture groups in the United States, emphasizing religions, holidays, customs, and languages in addition to providing information on historical background and settlement patterns. Also covers ethnoreligious groups such as Jews, Chaldeans, and Amish. Each essay lists organizations and research centers; name, address, and contact information for periodicals, radio, and television stations; and a further readings section.

St. James Encyclopedia of Popular Culture
Includes more than 2,700 signed essays ranging from 500 to 2,500 words, written by subject experts and edited to form a consistent, readable, and straightforward reference. Entries include subject-specific bibliographies and, where appropriate, photographs and textual cross-references to related essays.


Gale Encyclopedia of U.S. Economic History

Making of Modern Michigan
